Akon Finalizes His Own City In Africa

Singer and songwriter Akon just did something that no other artist has done. Teaming up with Senegal's SAPCO Tourism Company, the singer turned businessman is building his own city. Akon City will be a 10 year building project right outside of Dakar in Senegal. Being of Senegalese descent, its not surprising this is where he plants the roots.

Akon City will be a futuristic Crypto-City, where they will be using his own crypto currency; the Akoin. After his 'AKON LIGHTING AFRICA campaign, the president on Senegal gifted him, with 2000 acres of land, where the city will be built. It will be fully functioning as a city, but it is marked as a global eco tourism destination. Hopefully the city will bring an influx of tourism to the country, which can be a major contributing factor in increasing a country's economy.
