The very first artist we interviewed here at GMI returns to our pages bigger and better than ever. Austin's own rising underdog, Freequency, just dropped an album you can feel. The name of the project,'Make It Count', definitely describes the drive you hear from him in the album. You can tell he put a lot of himself in this one. After listening to the album a couple times, you can't help but feel like you know Freequency personally.
He kicked it off with his intro entitled 'In My Hand' which was like a personal tour of his mind. He shows his ability to tell stories thoroughly throughout the whole project. He also was able to grab a couple of big name features such as fellow Austinite Quin NFN, and Skippa Da Flippa.
He really captures his life for the listeners with his lyrics. He takes you through his times trappin' and selling to survive, when he got shot, getting arrested, etc. He uses his unique style of melodic rap to reel people in with his voice. This album is without a doubt the definition of well crafted. With dope production by Young Swisher and other dope features like TME Trigga, Lil F3ndi, and Joey Maurice. After dropping one of my favorite albums right now in Austin, I'm looking forward to seeing more from this young artist. Check out the album below and follow him on social media @freequency_
