D Smoke Releases Sophomore Album 'War & Wonders'

The west coast has been a staple to hip hop culture for decades now. Giving birth to legends and rising stars, it seems that the hip hop culture will thrive for years to come. Inglewood native D Smoke just released his new album entitled 'War & Wonders' as he continues to prove that he is part of the back bone of west coast hip hop.

The new project has big shoes to fill after Smoke’s critically acclaimed debut Black Habits, which snagged him two Grammy nominations last year for Best New Artist and Best Rap Album. Part of the pressure of making it in rap is continually trying to surpass what you just released. But it seems this wasn't a problem for the Rhythm & Flow winner. The album is stacked with great beats, hard bards, and amazing features such as John Legend, BJ The Chicago Kid, Tobe Nwigwe and so many more.

D Smoke talks about the meaning of the album in a recently released interview: “War & Wonders is about capturing the beauty and struggle of Inglewood living,” he said. “The wars we fight, both internal and external, help us to embrace love, success, and life’s many wonders. I connected with AJWILLDESIGN when a friend shared his art piece ‘Stronger Together’ over Instagram. It depicted a group of slaves uplifting one of their own out of bondage. It was already a brilliant piece and I just requested a hood version for the album artwork. It represents unity, struggle, and liberation.”
